Pankaj Tripathi is an actor par excellence and there is no denying that. The Mirzapur actor has given us a plethora of films and various memorable characters. From Ludo to Mirzapur 2 or Mimi, Pankaj manages to impress one and all with his terrific on-screen performances. For his unparalleled contribution to Indian cinema, Pankaj was recently awarded the Diversity in Cinema Award at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM).
While speaking to SpotboyE.com, Pankaj Tripathi expressed his happiness on receiving the prestigious award and said it came as a surprise to him as he was not expecting it.
The Stree actor shared, "I am humbled and honoured to receive the Diversity in Cinema award at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. I am thankful for the Australian government and IFFM team considering for this honour. It feels incredible when your craft is recognised in some other country and then being rewarded for your work. I never expected this. It's a pleasant surprise."
Tripathi had also been nominated for the Best Performance (Male) in the film category for Ludo and for the Best Performance (Male) in series for Mirzapur 2. The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) announced yesterday its grand winners for its 12th edition, which was held virtually. This year’s festival boasted an impressive line-up of feature and short films from across the cinemas of India. Representing the theme of Diversity through Cinema, IFFM had an overwhelming response from across the globe.
Additionally, Soorarai Pottru walked away with the Best Feature Film and Suriya won the Best Actor award from the same film. Vidya Balan won the Best Actress for her widely acclaimed film Sherni and Mirzapur was given the Best Series Award. Ace filmmaker Anurag Basu picks up the Best Director trophy for the feature film Ludo.
